| There
are basically two types of synthetic putting greens: Filled
or Unfilled. The greens that Golfscape Designs install
are filled greens. They use the densest polypropylene turf
material available. “Infilling a green” is the process of sweeping a material like sand into the fibers of the turf. This fill material causes the turf fibers to stand up vertically allowing the ball to travel only on the tips of the fibers. This process accomplishes two things:
|
|
| By using special infill products incorporating coal slag and copper slag, the greens fibers will remain vertical or stand-up and not mat down over time. These fill materials do not hold water like silica sand. They will provide a nice sponge-like cushion all year round. Also, the black color of the infill enhances the appearance of the green making it appear rich and dark in color. Our infilled greens are installed professionally and stand up to years of usage. |

Unfilled greens do not require infill of the turf. Typically these greens are made from nylon. Nylon is great material for football fields, but not for putting greens for several reasons: |
|
| Golfscape Designs can design a custom putting green to fit your landscape. Virtually any size or shape possible and we can create undulations and right or left breaks to make the green as challenging as you wish. You can also choose from many types of edging, fringe, or landscaping to enhance your putting green. We also install sand traps. |
